A non-invasive treatment to lift and tighten the skin

What Is Plasma Fibroblast Therapy?

Plasma fibroblast therapy is an aesthetic procedure to tighten and improve the appearance of skin. Keep in mind there is no single panacea for anti-aging, so Plasma Fibroblast treatments should be combined with other modalities such as Microneedling, Dermaplaning, Laser, injectables, etc.

Plasma fibroblast therapy targets fibroblasts, found in the dermis. Fibroblasts synthesize collagen and extracellular matrix components, and function in building and repairing the structural components of the skin.

The procedure usually takes about 30 to 60 minutes to perform.

The science of plasma treatments

Plasma generation occurs when an electrical discharge exits the device tip and enters the target area. The tip of the electrode is close enough to the skin for the spark to “jump” the gap, but never touches it.

The initial response is an immediate tissue contraction and thermal disruption of skin cells. The secondly response is tissue sublimation: a direct transfer of the tissue from a solid form to a gaseous state is created. The tissue absorbs the heat in a small area, causing a denaturation of collagen and other proteins in the skin. This results in the formation of new collagen or neo-callogenesis.

What are the benefits of plasma fibroblast therapy?

When plasma fibroblast therapy is performed in a safe, controlled environment, it can:

  • improve skin texture

  • offer mild-to-moderate skin tightening effects

  • result in some degree of skin facial contour change

  • the Plasma Pen can also be used for lesion removal

Which Pen to choose?

Because of the flood of cheap imitation devices on the market, I recommend you purchase a Pen from a supplier you trust. We have worked with the Maglev Pen and the iBeier K85, which is our favorite. For more on this Pen, visit our website

Where to do your training?

ASti (Aesthetic Skills Training Institute) is working with Susanne Ableitinger of Aesthetic Training Academy, offering virtual training with 1-on-1 video call practical training. For more information, see our website.

Susanne's plasma training is a 15-CPD points approved SAAHSP CPD activity.

See the training calendar for the next plasma training courses. The next training date is next week Monday, 31 May & 1 June 2021. Bookings to be done online.
